Jaroslav’s interest in science began in childhood, inspired by the TV show Windows to the Universe. He was later drawn to the world of particle physics, which led him to pursue it as a lifelong focus. After completing a research stay at Yale University, he faced a tough decision between offers in the U.S. and Europe, ultimately choosing to return to the Faculty of Nuclear Sciences and Physical Engineering at CTU in Prague, where he now serves as a professor.
At the Department of Physics, he helped establish a strong research program in the study of nuclear matter under extreme conditions. He continues to work in this field as part of major international experiments, including STAR at Brookhaven and ALICE at CERN.
