Jana Brotánková studied physics at Charles University and began her research career at the Institute of Plasma Physics of the Czech Academy of Sciences, working on the CASTOR tokamak in collaboration with international teams. After several years abroad (India, Australia), she returned to Prague and founded PlasmaLab@CTU – a teaching laboratory focused on plasma diagnostics and fusion education.
She teaches nuclear fusion at the CTU Faculty of Nuclear Sciences and Physical Engineering, serves on the board of the international FuseNet education network, and is president of the Czech Physical Society. She is also an active science communicator, dedicated to educating and inspiring the next generation of physicists.
