Professor Jiří Horáček is a psychiatrist, psychotherapist and multidisciplinary scientist. He is the head of the Research Centre for Advanced Studies of Brain and Consciousness at the Czech National Institute of Mental Health, the founder of PSYRES (Foundation for Psychedelics Research), and head of the Department of Psychiatry and Medical Psychology at the 3rd Faculty of Medicine of Charles University in Prague.

 

He studies the relations between human consciousness and body, the causes of mental disorders and the treatment of mental illnesses and depression with psychedelics. He reveals fascinating facts about the human mind, the secrets of the brain, and many other topics, including the nature of our perception of time and death. In the media, he has commented on the therapeutic effects of psychedelics, but more recently also on the threat of disinformation and the psychological causes and effects of its spread.
