Egyptologist and archaeologist

 

Miroslav is a renowned Czech Egyptologist and archaeologist, long-time director of the Czech Institute of Egyptology. He leads Czech research in Egypt and Sudan, focusing on the site of the pyramid builders in Abusir near Cairo.

 

 

He is the winner of many prestigious international awards for his scientific work, he worked at many universities in Western Europe and overseas. He is a member of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences. In addition to Egyptology, he has long been involved in the multidisciplinary study of the phenomenon of collapses, the rise and fall of complex civilizations.
