Marian Jelínek (CZE)

Hockey trainer, coach, educator

 

Marian is a manager, a coach not only for athletes, a lecturer, and an author, who, among other things, became famous for his long-term collaboration with the world-famous hockey player Jaromír Jágr.

 

Marian uses his many years of experience in elite sports in inspirational lectures for managers, at universities, international conferences, and personal coaching. He studied Physical Education and Geography at Charles University in Prague, later he specialized in ice hockey training. He completed his first doctorate in Kinanthropology, an interdisciplinary study of human movement, and the second one in Sports Psychology. Nowadays, he is the guarantor of the field of Managerial Psychology and the MSc. program at Newton University and co-founder of the Sportmentor project and Peak Level Academy. He is an author or a co-author of 12 books.
His greatest hockey coaching achievements include the gold medal from the 2005 World Cup in Vienna, two championship titles with Sparta Prague, and winning the Czech President's Cup with HC Škoda Plzeň. He also worked as a coach in Germany for six years, led the Czech national U20 team and several other teams of the national league. Currently, Marian works individually with a number of top athletes, including tennis player Karolina Pliskova.
