Jiří Dvořák (CZE/CHE)

Professor of Neurology, campaigner of Brain Health and healthy lifestyle

 

The former FIFA Chief Medical Officer is now a senior consultant in neurology and research at the spinal unit of the Schulthess Clinic in Zurich that he previously headed for 35 years. He is a professor of neurology at the University of Zurich and an expert consultant at the BDMS Wellness Clinic in Bangkok.

 

 

Professor Dvořák is a senior advisor to the British Journal of Sports Medicine; he was previously Deputy Editor-in-Chief of The Spine Journal, and published 462 original articles. He contributed greatly to research in the field of spinal medicine, especially from the point of view of clinical biomechanics, as well as sports medicine, in particular injury prevention. He has won numerous awards for these activities. His current research focuses on the prevention of communicable and non-communicable diseases, and works on the concept of a national diploma in lifestyle medicine for Thailand. He is an honorary member of EUROSPINE, which he co-founded in 1990, the International Society of Arthroscopy, Knee Surgery and Orthopedic Sports Medicine (ISAKOS), and the Czech Medical Academy.
He is the author of the book Health Brings Wealth (2022).
