Matter on Earth is made up of particles such as protons, neutrons, and electrons. However, many astronomical observations suggest that about 85% of the matter in the Universe is made up of so-called "dark matter" which is not yet understood. Why are scientists so sure of the existence of dark matter? And what do we (not) know about dark matter? nswers to these questions will be discussed in this talk.
