Simon Klinga (CZE)

Founder & Leader of LASAR

​A 17-year-old high school student who has already established himself as a prominent figure in the field of astronautics.

 

At the age of 15, he founded the LASAR student team, which aims to develop technologies for removing space debris from orbit. This project culminated in the successful launch of his own satellite, LASARsat, on a SpaceX rocket, which is now testing the use of lasers to reset malfunctioning satellites and contributing to solving the problem of space debris. 

In addition, Simon participated in a simulated expedition to Mars and won the ESA Hack an Exoplanet international competition. His commitment and innovative approach earned him inclusion in the Forbes 30 under 30 selection. His work significantly contributes to the sustainability and safety of outer space, thereby having a positive impact on the future of astronautics.
