Tomáš Reichel (CZE)

Publisher, director of Host publishing house

 

Together with a friend from his studies at the Faculty of Arts, Masaryk University in Brno, Tomas took over the publishing of the literary magazine Host in the mid-1990s, and gradually began to publish books. Today, Host Publishing House is one of the ten largest companies on the Czech book market.

 

 

With Stieg Larsson and Lars Kepler, the house started the wave of Nordic crime fiction, publishes the most successful domestic authors, such as Kateřina Tučková and Alena Mornštajnová, and has introduced Liu Cixin, the author of the original story of the Netflix series The Three-Body Problem, to the Czech market.
Tomáš Reichel is also a member of the Board of the Association of Czech Booksellers and Publishers.
