Samuel Kováčik (SVK)

Theoretical physicist

 

Samuel is a theoretical physicist, He graduated from the Faculty of Mathematics, Physics and Computer Science of Comenius University in Bratislava, from where he went on to the Dublin Institute of Advanced Studies. There he received a research grant from the Irish Research Foundation. Now he works at Comenius University again and Masaryk University in Brno.

 

 

His research includes modifications of quantum mechanics, numerical simulations and matrix models. He corrects his karma by writing articles on common topics such as clouds, various animals and trees. He also records and edits the Vedator podcast, and produces Vedator_sk. In his spare time, he does a bit of sports (running, gym, crawling), reads, cooks and plays games.

We all feel we are getting older, and most of us don't like it. Physics has been concerned with the passage of time since forever. We know that the flow of time can be slowed down, but the question is whether it can be reversed. In this talk, we'll discuss the history of the discovery of time and the big — and surprising — challenges physics currently faces.
