Pavla Hubálková (CZE)

Scientific editor

Pavla writes about science. She originally thought she was going to be a scientist. She studied Clinical Biochemistry at the University of Chemical Technology in Prague, and completed her PhD in neuroscience at the 3rd Medical Faculty of Charles University in Prague.
During her PhD studies, however, thanks to the Fulbright scholarship, she went to Northwestern University in Chicago for a one-year research fellowship, where she discovered that she wanted to do more science communication instead of research in the lab. She is now a science editor at the Charles University magazine Forum and the Czech edition of WIRED. She also communicates science on social media, and co-authored the first book on science communication in Czech.
