More than thirty years ago, he founded the Labyrint publishing house, where he focuses on fiction, art books and comics. He runs a children's publishing house Raketa and publishes a children's magazine of the same name.
Joachim studied special education, journalism and ethnology at Charles University in Prague. Currently, he also works as a senior editor of Magnus magazine, and hosts interviews on Czech Radio.
