Martin is a correspondent for Czech Radio, focusing mainly on Russia and the Balkans.
He has worked for Czech Radio since 1990, except for a six-year break (1998-2004) when he worked for Czech Television. In the 1990s he was a special correspondent in Slovakia and the Balkans. At the end of 2004 he left for Warsaw, where he worked for almost five years. Upon his return, he returned to his beloved Balkans and spent several turbulent months (with breaks) in Libya. Since May 2013, he has been the correspondent for the Russian Federation and the surrounding area, and in 2019 he moved back to Poland as Czech Radio's foreign correspondent in Poland and the Baltics. This winter, he was there when Russia started the war in Ukraine.
