Tomáš Hajzler (CZE)

Advocate for sustainable life & work, author

He deals with topics related to work and the future of business. Tomáš brought the “Freedom at Work” movement and the concept of a free company to the Czech Republic. He has co-founded several organizations, including PeopleComm, with the vision of becoming the most ecological European publishing house. He aims to change the way business and work is done in the Czech Republic and Slovakia.

Tomáš studied at various schools – in former Czechoslovakia, Russia, the Netherlands and the USA, his promising career led through multinational corporations as well as his own business, until he burned out and reassessed his own lifestyle. At that moment, Tomáš decided to use his childhood memories and knowledge, and devote himself to projects that would contribute to the development of a conscious, considerate and sustainable lifestyle in communities and broader society.
Tomáš co-founded the first Czech community food store. He is the co-author of the Back to Food project, supporter of the zero-waste movement and a volunteer in his children's schools. With his wife, daughters, dog and neighbours, he lives, works and gardens in a packaging-free and car-free community in Prague.
Tomáš has been writing and lecturing on the topics of new work, the future of business, upbringing, education and locally anchored life since 2007. He is the author of three popular books.
