A Roman Catholic priest of Polish nationality, Zbigniew Jan Czendlik aka Zibi, living in the Czech Republic. He is known for his distinctive attitude towards faith, religion and Christian values. He is not afraid to go upstream, to be religiously incorrect. At the same time, he is classy, warm-hearted, attentive, surprisingly open and social. He hosts his own talk show on Czech TV. One of his interviews was published as a book and was very successful with readers.
He studied the seminar and Theological Faculty in Katowice, Poland. He came to the Czech Republic in 1992, starting at the rectory in Náchod. Since 1997, he has been working in Lanškroun. He leads the parish in Lanškroun, East Bohemia. Among the priests, he stands out as a slightly unusual phenomenon. He enjoys sports, he used to play football, now he plays golf, tennis or goes skiing. In October 2016 he published the book Bed, Pub, Church, which he wrote together with Markéta Zahradníková and together they received the 2017 Magnesia Litera Readers' Prize. In 2018 the book was published in Poland under the title “Bóg nie jest automatem do kawy”.
He hosts his own talk show and tours around the Czech Republic with it. He actively participates in charitable and social projects of various types to support seniors or disabled children. He is the patron of a dog shelter.
