Michal aka Majki is the current national team captain. During his childhood he suffered from lumbar cancer in the spinal cord. In high school he met Tomáš Kvoch, one of the oldest current players of the Czech para hockey team, and started to train immediately.
He says he has known and gained the most valuable thing thanks to his handicap. His family. He married his physiotherapist and the two have twins Max and Leontýna. Majki has showed unreal performances not only at the 2019 Championship in Ostrava. He had to leave his job in order to prepare for the World Cup. He worked at an administrative position. Now he has a big dream: to pursue para hockey fully – professionally, so he doesn't have to share his time between work, training and family. He was at the Paralympics three times and is the winner of the Best Hockey Player in the Golden Hockey Stick award.
