A world-renowned physicist and science populariser. Her work involves physics of plasma, interactions of matter with high-powered lasers. Currently, she is the head of her own scientific group in Helmholtz Centre in Dresden – Rossendorf. Despite her young age she has already won several prestigious awards for her work.
She was born in Zlín. When she was sixteen, she went to study to Scotland and after that, she studied physics at Imperial College London. She got her PhD at the Oxford University. She worked as a scientist at Los Alamos National Laboratory in New Mexico, USA, for three years. She was involved in the ELI Beamlines laser centre project at Dolní Břežany, close to Prague. She is a university lecturer at the Technical University in Dresden. She has received significant scientific awards, including the SET for Britain prize of the British Parliament for young scientists, special annual award for scientific teams in Los Alamos and Czech Neuron Impuls.
