Stanislav Havlicek went on his first mission with Doctors Without Borders in 2016.
His first six-month mission took him to Agok, South Sudan, where he managed a hospital pharmacy. On his second mission, he worked in Bangladesh, on a project aimed at helping the Rohingya, and twice in Yemen. His last mission so far was to Palestine.
A graduate of the Faculty of Pharmacy at Charles University, he was President of the Czech Chamber of Pharmacy from 2007-2011 and continues to serve on its Board of Directors. This year, his book Hlas větru (The Voice of the Wind), reflecting his experiences from his mission in Bangladesh, won the Hanzelka and Zikmund Award for travel book of the year.
