Lecture in language
He is interested in general relativity and other theories of gravity, especially solutions to Einstein's equations describing gravitational waves, black holes, and cosmological models.
Jiří Podolský is a professor at the Institute of Theoretical Physics of Mathematics and Physics of Charles University. He has published more than 100 papers in international journals, and has edited, together with J. B. Griffiths, the monograph Exact Space-Times in Einstein's General Relativity (2009). In addition to research and teaching, he has long been involved in science outreach: he organizes the Lecture Series in Modern Physics for high school students and the public, and over 50 of his lectures can be viewed on YouTube. Further, he has translated 17 popular books on theoretical physics and astronomy. He also served as an expert advisor for the series Genius: Einstein (National Geographic, 2017), about which he and his colleagues wrote the book Einstein in Prague Again – Physics in the Genius Series.
