Alena Salašová studied landscape architecture at today's Mendel University in Brno. She became an associate professor in the same field. Her main research topics in recent years include the identification and protection of historical cultural landscapes of the Czech Republic, landscape character assessment, adaptation of the territory to climate change and implementation of the Council of Europe Landscape Convention in the Czech Republic. Currently, she is the head of the Institute of Landscape Planning at the Faculty of Horticulture at MENDELU.
