Lucie is a translator, literary editor and author of children's books. For many years she worked in Czech publishing houses (Albatros, Mladá fronta and Euromedia Group) where she focused on children's literature. She has participated in several projects focused on reading literacy and she initiated the creation of a unique methodological handbook for children's books.
Today, Lucie is a freelance translator from French and English, editor and writer. For more than 5 years, she has been involved in organizing the Zlatá stuha annual award for the best children's books. At the same time, she is vice-chairwoman of the Czech Section of IBBY (International Board on Books for Young People), an international organization of UNESCO, which annually gives out the Hans Christian Andersen Award to authors and illustrators of children's books. It is the most prestigious international award for authors in the field of literature for children.
