He works at the Institute of Global Change Research of the Academy of Sciences of the Czech Republic where he deals, for example, with the ecological physiology of plants, global climate change or the use of fast-growing woody plants in the energy sector.
Alexander graduated from the University of Pavol Jozef Šafárik in Košice, Slovakia, in environmental ecology. He completed his doctoral studies at the University of South Bohemia and at the Global Change Research Institute where he currently works. He has translated the book ‚Sustainable Energy — without the hot air‘ by Professor David MacKay from the University of Cambridge.
