Lecture in language

Mysterious Shakespeare

KOSMAS / Argo stage
20. 7. 2018 15:30 - 17:00
This lecture will impress all fans of the great English playwright. On one stage, two of the greatest experts of his work will meet: James S. Shapiro and Martin Hilský. The discussion will also be complemented by Kateřina Hilská, who has translated the last Shapiro´s book 1599: A Year in the Life of William Shakespeare (2018).
Why and where did the theory that Will of Stratford is a cheater, or that it's just a pseudonym of another famous author appear? What was the life of this lonely, mysterious genius like? In his lecture James will give you enough evidence to convince a skeptic that Shakespeare really wrote his works, mostly on his own, sometimes in co-operation.
