Stop Setting the World on Fire

In the last decade, engineers have dropped the price of renewable energy by 90 %. Now, the cheapest way to generate power on this planet is to point a sheet of glass at the sun. That sets the scene for a truly radical shift: after 700,000 years humans can kick the habit of combustion, and learn to rely instead on the great burning ball of gas in the sky. The implications are remarkable, right down to the fact that we'll be able to produce this crucial commodity close to home, instead of relying on Russia or Saudi Arabia or Texas. But it won't happen unless we organize to make it happen.
