Kene Igweonu is a theatre academic and practitioner of the Feldenkrais Method. His academic interests are in actor and performance training, directing, as well as theatre and performance in Africa and its Diasporas. His practice interests equally extend to the value of the Feldenkrais Method for public health and wellbeing.
Kene Igweonu received his doctorate in Drama and Theatre from Royal Holloway, University of London. He has taught at a number of universities and is currently Principal Lecturer and Director of Knowledge Exchange at Canterbury Christ Church University. As an experienced theatre academic and Feldenkrais practitioner, he is concerned with the exploration of effective strategies for embedding awareness education in performer training and the usefulness of Awareness Through Movement for characterisation in performance making. He is increasingly sought after for work in this area and organises regular Feldenkrais classes and individual lessons for members of the public in Canterbury.
