The literary world across many countries has been thrilled by Thomas‘s latest horror novel HEX. The book first became a bestseller in the Netherlands and was then translated into English for the US, UK, and Australia. It has now been translated into nine languages and sold in 14 countries including Brazil and China. In 2017 the Czech translation was published by the publishing house Argo.
In 2015, he received the prestigious American Hugo Award for Best Novelette for his short story The Day the World Turned Upside Down, published in English. It was the first time this literary award had been given to an author of translated work. He was also nominated for the Paul Harland Prize, and the World Fantasy Award.
Stephen King, Neil Gaiman and Roald Dahl are among the authors that Thomas admires.
