In the 1970s, he discovered the magic of macro photography with the single-lens reflex camera Flexaret. Another milestone were his experiments with stereoscopic photography (today it is mostly referred to as stereophotography or 3D photography). The results were so encouraging that he decided to take photos of everything in three dimensions, despite numerous problems. Eventually, he managed to combine macro photography with stereophotography. And that's mainly because he made his own optical systems and constructions. The vast majority of 3D macro photos were taken in nature in Moravia: whenever possible, he photographs animals in their natural environment and usually without any arrangement or intervention.
