After graduating from František Palacký Grammar School in Valašské Meziříčí, he continued his studies at the Faculty of Social Sciences of Charles University in Prague in the field of journalism, which he completed in 1992.
He worked in Lidové noviny, Respekt and co-founded the magazine Týden. Since 1999 he has been working for Czech Television. In 2004 he became an editor of the program Reporters of Czech TV, then its anchorman and a year later its script editor, giving it its investigative character. It is the longest continuously broadcast profile program of investigative journalism in the history of the Czech TV.
