In his normal life he is a medical orderly at Olomouc University Hospital. He grew up in Ruda nad Moravou and is now getting smaller in Zábřeh na Moravě. He started with both climbing and jogging after his wild teen years. He does the first with his long-time friend Vít Orava and the second with his faithful dog Bady. He always goes on an expedition with the largest backpack and is the last to leave the tent. His climbing speed is inversely proportional to altitude, so over 7,000 m above sea level he is more or less constantly sprinting. At the age of thirty, his greatest climbing achievements include his ascent of the highest mountain in Afghanistan, Noshaq, at 7,492 m a.s.l., Kyrgyz Chan Tengri at 7,010 m a.s.l.. or Peruvian Chopicalqui at 6,354 m a.s.l.
Besides climbing and jogging, he is also a beekeeper and sells Christmas carp.
