Jan started in several managerial positions in retail and logistics and at the age of 24 he and his father together bought the company HOBRA - Školník. While this successful Czech entrepreneur will not participate in a business panel of Meltingpot 2018, he will speak about the principles of social responsibility.

In 2004 Jan and his wife founded the Agency for the Development of Broumov Region, a non-profit organization whose goal is to revive the Broumov region. The most important achievement of the Agency's work was the reconstruction of the Broumov monastery. This extensive site of the Broumov Monastery that now serves as an eductional and cultural center continues the centuries-old tradition of monastery education.
His company won the Via Bona Award for Corporate Philanthropy in 2006. In 2014, he earned the title EY Socially Beneficial Entrepreneur, and in 2017 he received the title of The Philanthropist of 20 years in the survey of Via Foundation.
