Jarmila Štuková

Photographer and war photo reporter, multiple winner of Czech Press Photo.

She studied production at FAMU but soon began to take pictures. From the beginning she has mainly been interested in social issues. Her first success was photos of salt mining from the flooded El Sod crater in Ethiopia. She went to Haiti to document the consequences of the devastating earthquake. She also documented the lives of people diagnosed with AIDS in southern India, photographed little orphans who live in the canals of Odessa, child prostitution in Ethiopia and acid attacks on women and girls in India.
