Kateřina Handlová (CZE)

Designer, creative director of Rückl

Kateřina has been surrounded by glasswork since childhood, growing up in North Bohemia in a family of glass artists. From high school to graduation from the Academy of Arts, Architecture, and Design in Prague, where she studied glass in Rony Plesl's studio, she gained experience all over the world.

Kateřina has completed internships at the K.O.V. studio with Eva Eisler, at the École Supérieure des Arts Décoratifs in Strasbourg and at the Thier & van Daalen studio in Eindhoven. She has designed lamps for the LASVIT brand and spent three years in Dubai as a designer for the Middle East region. She then worked for Swarovski in Austria as Head of Design for Swarovski Fine Interiors. She designed crystal lighting collections for the Bomma brand, where she is now Senior Designer.

Since 2022, Kateřina has been the Art Director for the Rückl brand. Her work has been recognized with prestigious awards, receiving the Elle Awards in the Creativity category in 2024 and the Designer of the Year award at the Czech Grand Design in spring 2025.
