Dina Štěrbová

Legendary female mountaineer.

Since 2006 she has been involved in charity work. She cooperates with Vítězslav Dokoupil on the humanitarian project Czech Hospital in Pakistani Karakoram (Western Himalayas). They took up, built and since 2007 have run a mountain hospital in a village called Arandu in the Basho Valley under Chogo Lungma glacier. In addition to operating the hospital they established a rescue service in the form of two off-road vehicles which are used to transport severely ill patients to the State Hospital in Skardu. They expanded the local primary school to today’s capacity of 100 children.
