Benjamin B. Fischer

Formerly the main historian of the CIA.

He is a graduate of Cornell University and Columbia University. He worked for the CIA for thirty years, in the last of these for the Centre for the Study of Espionage. His monograph “At Cold War’s End: US Intelligence on the Soviet Union and Eastern Europe, 1989-1991” was selected by The White House Millennium Committee for the time capsule of the National Archives, which is to be opened in 2100. In 2002 Fischer was a visiting research fellow at the Norwegian Nobel Institute in Oslo. He is an editorial consultant for the International Journal of Intelligence and Counter Intelligence.
